GHS Curriculum Night Overview

Join us for Curriculum Night on Thursday, October 10, 2024. This event offers an excellent opportunity to follow your student’s class schedule, meet their teachers, and learn about the curricula and expectations for each class. 

Please bring or access your student’s schedule before the event, from your student or from the Source as you will follow their daily classes throughout the evening. A Curriculum Night 24-25 Info Sheet is available to download on the GHS PTSA Website.

Curriculum Night Schedule

• Student-Athlete Orientation: 5:30 p.m. in the Quincy Jones Auditorium
  • For families of student-athletes, this session will provide important information about Garfield’s athletic programs, expectations, and opportunities for students involved in sports.
• Parent Info Session: 6:15 – 6:50 p.m. in the Quincy Jones Auditorium
• 1st Period – 7:00 – 7:10 p.m.
• 2nd Period: 7:15 – 7:25 p.m.
• 3rd Period: 7:30 – 7:40 p.m.
• 4th Period: 7:45 – 7:55 p.m.
• 5th Period: 8:00 – 8:10 p.m.
• Advisory: 8:15 – 8:25 p.m.
• 6th Period: 8:30 – 8:40 p.m.

We appreciate your participation in this important event, and please note that there will be a GHS Staff Meeting immediately following Curriculum Night at 8:45 p.m.

Know Before You Go – Tips From the PTSA!

• Before arriving on Thursday, parents/guardians should get their student’s schedule from The Source or from your student. (Directions for setting up and logging into The Source are available on the SPS website.)
• Write the schedule on the downloadable Curriculum Night 2024-2025 Info Sheet on the GHS PTSA Website.
• Driving to GHS? Parking can be challenging, so leave extra time. Tip: Try the diagonal spaces on 25th Avenue.
• Part of the fun is navigating the confusing hallways of the main building. Maps will be handed out.
• Go to the Garfield Commons to say hi to GHS Counselors, other GHS staff and representatives of community partner organizations.
• It’s a firm stop at 8:40. Teachers are required to attend a closing staff meeting.
• Can’t make this date? Schedule appointments or calls with teachers. Their preferred contact info is likely to be on the course overviews given to students in September, and their email addresses are on the GHS Staff Page.
