Reclaiming the Village: A Black Family & Community Summit
Saturday, August 16, 2025 | 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Garfield High School Commons
Garfield High School is hosting Reclaiming the Village, an inaugural summit created to center Black families, students, and the community-based organizations that support them.
The purpose is to build stronger relationships, connect families to meaningful supports, and gather input to inform how we improve—especially in how we support students and partner with families.
The day will include a community resource fair, listening sessions with families, breakout discussions on student mental health, family and school partnerships, safety, and graduation requirements and student supports.
Lunch and informal time are also built in to support connection and relationship-building.
This event is part of Garfield’s broader commitment to building stronger partnerships with families.
Registration is required and is open only to current Garfield families.
