    • 2021 ASB is asking all grades to design a sticker for their upcoming sticker drive! They really want all grades to be represented with this design, so spread the word to your upperclassmen buds! Voting on designs on Friday the 26th, so please get your submissions in before then!
    • Attention Juniors and Sophomores! Join the yearbook staff next semester! Learn new skills! Create the memories! Get occ ed credit! We need YOU to make the yearbook.  Yearbook Spring Staff forms are out: see Mr. Lovre in room 201 or in the yearbook room. 

    OFF-CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES

    COLLEGE, CAREER, AND COUNSELING

    • Looking for service hours? Volunteer at the Wing Luke Museum for the Lunar New Year Fair 02/10. Come to The College and Career Center for more information.
    • Online Registration for 2nd semester will begin Monday, January 22, 2018.  You can stop by to see Ms. Alston in the Counseling Office to sign up for an appointment during NON-CLASS times only beginning Wednesday, January 17, 2018.  There are limited appointments slots available, so be sure to get in early to reserve your spot!  
    • Teens in Public Service is hiring interns! TIPS interns work to provide affordable housing and services to the homeless, tutor at-risk youth, gain hands-on experience in the medical, science and environmental fields, and provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities to children and families. Application Deadline is Feb 26th at teensinpublicservice.org
    • Looking for scholarships? Please visit the College and Career Center scholarship page on Garfield’s website.

    GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • We are in the midst of flu season and flu shots are still available in the Teen Health Center. Stop by to find out more info on how to sign up for an appt.
    • Are you feeling stressed or anxious? Would you like mental health support? Stop by the Teen Health Center on the first floor and make an appointment with Ms. Moore to talk about emotional and mental health concerns, including family, social and academic problems.
    • Need tutoring? Stop by the library on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school from 3:45 – 5:45pm to get help with homework.

    • CAN Seniors! Don’t forget we’re having CAN sessions every Thursday!

    2019

    • Juniors are you interested in taking the ACT? Come take a practice ACT with Princeton Review at Garfield on January 20th. Please come to the college and career center to sign up. Spots are limited, so sign up ASAP.  

      2020

    • Class of 2020 – Help us create our class flag! The deadline is 1/31/18 to garfield2020asb@gmail.com or a hard copy to an officer. Designs will be voted on for a winner; each must say “Garfield High School Class of 2020 somewhere!” Winning artist will receive a free piece of our upcoming merch!
    • 10th graders! It’s about that time to meet with you school counselor for your 10th grade meeting. We’ll check in and talk about graduation requirements, college, and your future goals. Come in and see Ms. Traci in the Counseling Office in room 104 to schedule your appointment. The counselors look forward to meeting with you!

    • Anyone interested in trying out for Bulldog softball in late February should attend a pre-season player meeting at 4PM on Monday, 1/22 in the Library.  Our Softball Varsity went to the State Championship for the first time in school history last season. If you play softball or are athletic and want to try, please come and learn more about the program.
