    • Virtual Graduation Ceremony Pictures Class of 2020

      Dear Garfield Class of 2020,

Thank you for providing your feedback on different possible options for our 2020 graduation ceremony. In response to the Governor’s phased re-opening plan and graduation guidance from OSPI, the state’s education agency, we will be hosting virtual graduation ceremonies for its Seniors.

We recognize that this is very disappointing to many of you. We are disappointed too and want to make sure you know how much we care about you and that we will work to make sure you feel honored during this important moment.

Seattle Public Schools will be hosting Garfield High School’s Virtual Ceremony on June 17, 2020.

In the meantime, we need you to submit a photograph for the virtual event. Please upload your photo NO LATER than June 1 at 4:00p.m. to be included in the ceremony. Our graduation will be broadcast on cable television and premiere on YouTube during our scheduled date and time.  Please follow the tips below to insure your picture is shown.

Take Care, Stay Safe, and Best Regards,

      Theodore Howard, II

    • Remote Learning Schedule

To reflect the needs of our new reality of extended distance learning, Garfield is using a Remote Learning “Bell” Schedule as a guide for teachers, students, and families.  Like everything we do as a school community in these difficult times, it is grounded in compassion and flexibility. As we go forward, we will continue to work as a school community to hone and improve our system.

    • Resources for at Home Learning During School Closures

Seattle Public Schools is dedicated to ensuring educational excellence for every student. During school closures, our hope is that learning will continue (particularly in the core academic areas). This is not a replacement for classroom instruction. These activities are not required nor will be graded.
