    Support for Academics
    CAN- College Access Now, a Seattle-based program with a group at GHS,which serves promising, low-income young people by helping them preparefor and earn admission to college, office on 3rd Floor.

    CSF- College Success Foundation works with low-income students to prepare them for their academic future. They are based in computer lab 121.

    Garfield College Network

    Peer Tutoring - Garfield students

    Read Right - This national program shows exceptional results with students typically becoming more fluentreaders with better understanding. In October 2011, the program waslisted as 1 of 3 research-backed interventions that work in secondaryschools by the National Center for Response to Intervention (NCRTI).     Study Center - After school tutoring in the Career and College Center, M-Th from 2:20-4:00. Library is open until 3:15.

    Tutoring After School - Overview of all programs offering support in afternoons.

    Upward Bound - City of Seattle program preparing high school students for higher education.

     Y-Scholars - A choice program for incoming 9th graders with classesin a cohort and ongoing activities in upper grades. Supported byYMCA-Meredith Matthews East Madison Branch, Garfield staff and parents,Garfield PTSA and Americorp volunteers.
