STUDENT ACTIVITIES

  • Garfield’s SPRING FLING semi-formal dance will be held on Friday, 3/10. Tickets will be on sale starting Monday, 3/6. Guest passes will be due to the Main Office on Thursday, 3/2 (unless you turned one in in February!) Forms are available online, in the Main Office, and outside the Activities Center.
  • Would you like to showcase your culture through different art forms? Would you like to participate in the school’s first Multicultural Week? If so, sign up with contact info outside of the Activities Center by Friday, 3/10 to be contacted!
  • Yearbook Editor Applications are out now – you can pick them up outside the yearbook room!

    OFF-CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES

  • The Grace Training Foundationis offering a greatMid-Winter Break classfor seniors and very interested juniors wanting to make the most of their week. The Road Forward is a class that teaches students how to identify and get the job they want! You will learn to highlight your skills and abilities, write a resume, prepare and practice for an interview and much more. The class is free, and will be held at the Garfield Teen Life Center over mid-winter break. Sign-up outside the College and Career Center (the class is limited to 15 students)

  • Staff and students please join Garfield’s College Network and wear your favorite college gear every Monday for College Gear Mondays!

    GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Need an ID? They are available Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch in the Activities Center in the Commons! $5 for replacement cards. See Ms. Antoncich with questions or to make an alternate appointment.
  • Lost & found clothing items in the MAIN OFFICE. Come check for a missing item. These items will be donated to Goodwill after school on Friday, 2/17!
  • ELL Tutoring is 3:15-4:00 Monday and Thursday in room 312, Tuesday and Wednesday in room 330.
  • All current ELL students are required to take the ELPA test. Testing days are Wednesday March 8, Thursday March 9th and Friday March 10th in Room 118.  If you have any questions please check-in with Mrs. Hopkins in Room 312.
  • Tutoring for Everyone Monday-Thursday from 3:30-5:00 in the library.

CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS

2017

  • Garfield’s Golden Grad Scholarship is now open! Ms. Collins in the College and Career Center will start accepting the scholarship applications after school on Wednesday, 3/1. Applications are due by 3/31 or until the 50 interview slots are filled. Applications will only be accepted during lunch or after school. Applications are available on the Garfield Golden Grad website, Garfield's College Career Center Scholarship page, or grab a copy from the College and Career Center.
  • Seniors and Juniors: Are you looking for an internship this summer getting paid $15 hour? Please stop by the College and Career Center to learn more about the SYEP Plus summer internship and pick up an application.
