The advanced photography class, under the direction of Mr. Louviere, has produced an exhibit of diverse and interesting photographs which portray the character and feel of the International District. They were given an assignment to visit this neighborhood, only a mile from our school, to document the area in portraits that would communicate the connection between people and landscapes. This creative exploration, through the lens of the camera, has produced works which visually record the rich heritage and diversity of a vibrant part of our city and one which is the setting for “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet”. In conjunction with the Community Artists Program, the student work and accompanying artist statements will be shown in the windows of the Safeway Store at 15th Ave East and East John Street on Capitol Hill through mid-April.
