Please join the GHS community for the biggest parent and staff social event of the year, GHS PTSA's Auction & Gala on March 1, 6:00 PM! This year we have a new format AND a new venue!!  The Auction will happen at the Showbox SoDo, 1700 1st Avenue South and is shaping up to be a fun evening.  Here are a few of the things you can expect....

  • Participate in the Silent Auction, Raise the Paddle, Dessert Dash!
  • Enjoy fabulous entertainment by talented Garfield students!
  • Savor the delicious cuisine of Seattle super-chefs, Thierry Ratereau  of Rovers/Luc & John Platt of St. Clouds
  • Dance the night away to Moxie, "Seattle's Hottest Little Big Band"!
  • Be the raffle winner (fingers crossed!) of the amazing Tesla all-electric car (and 3 runner-up cash prizes)!

And if that's not enough your Master of Ceremonies for the evening is non other than history teacher extraordinaire, Mr Mandelman!! Cheer him on, lend your support as he  leads the evening of fun, frolic & fundraising for PTSA programs that help all Garfield students succeed.

All GHS  teachers and staff are invites and admission for teschers/staff is FREE!!  But because we need to have numbers to make sure there's enough food and beverages for everyone, we need to to register at

this link. Just check the box for GHS staff/faculty and follow the prompts. Hope to see you there!

Let's Raise the Woof again at this year's Garfield High PTSA School Auction & Gala.  Bring your friends to fill a table as you enjoy heavy appetizers provided once again by Thierry Rautureau of Rovers and Luc and John Platt of St. Clouds.  A different format & venue this year, the Showbox SODO will be a fantastic place to listen to some of Garfield's best talent while raising funds to support many excellent programs at GHS.  Instead of having a Live Auction, our Musical Review format will follow a Silent Auction where you most certainly can find something irresistible.  Of course, don't forget this year's Raffle!  A Tesla sedan!  We will choose the lucky winner at the event.  Will it be you?  After you have enjoyed the excellent food and drink, watched our talented youth and Raised your Paddle, you can dance the night away to the sounds of "Seattle's Hottest Little Big Band," Moxie .  So, plan now, Friday, March 1st.

Watch for invitations coming in the mail and check out the 2013 Auction Blogspot for information on the event, ways to volunteer or donate auction items.

We hope to sell 500 tickets to this event!

Bring your friends and neighbors and RSVP now.

Win ATesla "S" All Electric Sedan-2013 Car of The Year

This is your chance to win a Tesla all electric sedan with a 300 mile range on a single charge or $50,000, or three smaller cash prizes.  Purchasing tickets for this Garfield High School PTSA raffle also provides vital funds for programs and services at Garfield. The PTSA raises money to support the extra-curricular programs, supplemental intervention programs to help underachieving students and career and college counseling services to help kids find a positive path for their post high school life.

The PTSA has had to become ever more creative to raise money for the school.  Last year one successful approach was to raffle a Leaf electric car.  This year we are raffling a Tesla S Sedan-Automobile Magazine and Motor Trend's Car of the Year.  This is the breakthrough electric car with a range of 300 miles on a single charge. We are selling 1650 raffle tickets at $100 each. The odds of winning are much better than most raffles.

To learn more about the raffle and find out how to purchase tickets, click here.

On Friday, March 1st, at the Garfield annual PTSA Auction/Gala, the winning ticket will be drawn.  You don't have to be present to win.  If you win you can take either the car or $50,000 in a certified check.

This year, tickets will be drawn for three additional prizes--$1500, $1000, and $500 certified checks.  Please note that you must be present to win one of the additional prizes.

Visit the Tesla website for detailed information on the car

Volunteers needed to help sell Raffle tickets for the Tesla Sedan!

The raffle is a key fundraising effort of the PTSA.  It is not hard to sell the tickets.  We can provide an email for you to send out to your contacts along with a raffle flyer.  You are not limited to selling to Garfield parents.  Most of the buyers so far have no connection with Garfield but are interested in a chance to win the Tesla.  So sending an email to a wide range of personal contacts proves to be successful. We only have six weeks to sell all the tickets so many helpers are needed.
