Newly Assigned Students for the Current School Year: Contact Ms. Chow, the registrar 206-252-2285. She will verify your enrollment at GHS and Ms. Ikegami, the counseling secretary 206-252-2304, will collect the required documents for your intake meeting which include: Transcript, Current Withdrawal Grades, Immunization Records, Discipline History, Attendance Records, State Testing Scores, IEP Documentation (if applicable), and 504 Plan (if applicable). Once the documents have been received, Ms. Ikegami will schedule your mandatory intake meeting with the principal and your counselor. Here is a link to the New Student Check List.
2017/2018 Courses: The Counselors will meet with current 9th, 10th and 11th graders regarding their courses for next year in March. Schedules will be available for pick up at Orientation the first week of September. Students can make requests for changes for both 1st and 2nd semester at that time.
Please be aware that if you request a course change, we will do our best
to get it for you but we may not be able to do it due to master schedule constraints. No requests will be accepted after the first Friday of the school year and no schedules will be changed after the 10th day of school (for either semester!). You will be notified of your changes by an email to the email address that the student provides (please also include a phone number in case your counselor needs to talk to you about the course change.
*AP and Honors courses require additional homework. Careful consideration regarding the number of AP and Honors courses and your commitments to activities is vital to ensure that your high school experience is not overly stressful!

If you are a new GHS student, joining us for the 2017/2018 school year, you should receive a Registration Packet in mid-April by mail.
If you are assigned to GHS after mid-April, you will be mailed your packet.
Please follow the directions in your Registration Packet.
8th graders in a SPS middle school: The Counselors will meet with students who attend Seattle Public Schools (SPS) at their middle school in late April and early May.
New students not currently in a SPS middle school: There will be an Evening Event (date to be determined) in the Garfield Commons for Non-Seattle Public School students to turn in their Option Sheets.

Online Credit Retrieval Courses: Online course registration is closed for the 2016 -17 school year. Please contact Ms. Alston in early September 2017 for the next registration period. Do you need to make up a class for graduation? Can't fit Health or WA State into your schedule? Then the online credit retrieval program is for you!!!
Registration appointments begin Monday, January 25th, and will end Monday, March 14th, 2016. Beginning Tuesday, January 19th, you can stop by during non-class times to see Ms. Alston in the Counseling Office to sign up for an appointment. Appointments are on a first come first served basis, so get in early to reserve your spot, once they are gone you will have to wait until the next available semester to sign up!!! Running Start Courses: You must fill out and take the Running Start application to your Seattle Public Schools counselor prior to registering for and attending Running Start courses each quarter. See Running Start page for additional information.
