STUDENT ACTIVITIES

  • It’s time to Spring into Action! Bloodworks Northwest will be putting on a BLOOD DRIVE in the Gym (220 Q) on Friday, 3/31 from 8:45am – 2:45pm and is looking for donors! Make a huge impact in your community by signing up to give blood! Your donation can help up to three patients in local hospitals. To donate, you must be 16 or older with parent permission. If you are interested in learning more please stop by Nurse Miller’s office for a permission slip OR visit with the Bloodworks Representative at lunches on March 23rd, 28th, 29th, and 30th! All first-time donors will be entered to win a $10 Starbucks Gift Card! Thank you, lifesavers!

OFF-CAMPUS OPPORTUNITIES

COLLEGE, CAREER, AND COUNSELING

  • Staff and students please join Garfield’s College Network and wear your favorite college gear every Monday for College Gear Mondays!
  • Would you like to make $15.68/hr? Apply to be a Seattle Public Library’s student assistant. Application workshops will be at Douglass-Truth Library 3/23 and 4/4. For more information, please see Ms. Collins in the College and Career center.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Need a replacement ID? They are available Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch in the Activities Center in the Commons! $5 for replacement cards. See Ms. Antoncich with questions or to make an alternate appointment.
  • ELL Tutoring is 3:15-4:00 Monday and Thursday in room 312, Tuesday and Wednesday in room 330.
  • No Tutoring in the Library through 3/24. Tutoring begins again on 3/27!

CLASS ANNOUNCEMENTS

2017

  • Seniors! Have you bought your GRAD NIGHT TICKETS? Tickets will be on sale today at the Bulldog Counter during lunch. Everyone who purchases tickets and turns in signed forms by 4/30 will be eligible to win one of 25 Fastpasses for Grad Night in a drawing. For more information, or to get Grad Night forms, email garfield2017class@gmail.com. Tickets on sale Wednesdays and Fridays through April!
  • Are you a senior and want to major in the Art like fine arts, graphic design, dance, theater and etc.? If you are then apply for a new Golden Grad Scholarship. Only 10 students will be interviewed and the application deadline is 3/31. Come by the college and career center to pick up an app or go to the scholarship page on GHS website.

    Seniors it is not too late apply for scholarship, please go to the 2016-2017 Scholarship page on the Garfield Website and apply!

  • Senior Speakers for Graduation: Would you like to speak at Graduation? Email smantoncich@seattleschools.org or contact Amira Abdel-Fattah, Rheana Dale or Michael Dalton. Auditions will be on 3/27, 4/3 with callbacks on 4/17. The deadline is 4/17 for all auditions!
  • Would you like to sing the National Anthem at Graduation? Please email smantoncich@seattleschools.org or come to the Activities Center on Monday 4/17 or Monday 4/24 at lunch to try out!

2018

  • Juniors, run for all-school office! ASG APPLICATIONS are available now! Turn them in by 3:45 on Friday, 4/7!

2019

  • Time is running out for the class of 2019 to schedule their 10th Grade Meeting.  Please come to the counseling office during non-class times to schedule your appointment with the counseling secretary, Ms. Traci.  This meeting is an opportunity for you to meet with your counselor to plan your 11th and 12th grade classes, and to discuss your plans for after high school.
